Bristol County
Stephen Turner Inc. provided comprehensive commissioning services beyond that required for LEED fundamental & enhanced commissioning. The project upgraded and renovated the existing 5,600 square feet Hydraulion Engine and Hose Co. No. 1 station and added 16,150 square feet of carefully designed space housing three departments in one facility: Bristol Fire & Rescue Administrative Headquarters, Rescue Station, and Training.
This project included new construction that substantially expanded the existing Hydraulion Engine & Hose Company No. 1. The new 2- story building houses administrative offices, training rooms, and a rescue station. The two buildings are connected by a corridor, with two drive-through bays in the existing facility supplemented by three new bays for rescue vehicles and additional storage in the new facility.
The facility consolidates all rescue operations into a single building. Under the US Green Building Council's LEED-NC Version 2.2 green building rating system, the project was awarded Silver certification.
